TAKE A BITE ...everybody wants to PAMELA SHAW and band

Director: Mark Waldrop
Musical Director: Darryl Wallis

International singer/actor Pamela Shaw returns to The Cornish Arms for one night only, fresh from sell-out shows in New York and Los Angeles.

TAKE A BITE enjoyed a sell-out success earlier this year at The Cornish Arms but the show has now been re-worked extensively in New York by an acclaimed production team.

TAKE A BITE was directed by New York's Mark Waldrop (also responsible for Bea Arthur's latest show, And Then There's Bea - soon to play Sydney for the 2002 Gay Games Cultural Festival) and features choreography by Broadway legend Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line, Company, Follies).

Pamela has had a number of successful seasons at Capers Caberet in the past and more recently was a favourite with Melbourne audiences playing Rita La Porta in two seasons of the musical sell-out Lucky Stiff at Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne. She is about to start work on the Australian National Tour of the Nadia Tass production of C.S.Lewis' infamous The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

A one-woman tour-de-force which gives Pamela the opportunity to awaken her rock Œgoddessı within, TAKE A BITE is an amazing fusion of rock music and cabaret. Including songs by the Rolling Stones, Rickie Lee Jones, John Bucchino, Bob Seger, with original material by Ms. Shaw and others, this eclectic and fun show is musically directed by Darryl Wallis and features a full band.

Get set for hot passion with cool attitude in Pamela Shaw's funky new cabaret. Sexy, gritty and soulful, TAKE A BITE is world-class rock-cabaret of powerful extremes.

"There is no-one else in the current cabaret scene that simultaneously combines a sense of electricity, class, funk and delicacy with a profound emotional truth and dangerously edgy material: Pamela Shaw is a true original." - The Guardian (London)

"Sassy, sophisticated, sexy and sensuous, Pamela Shaw has it all. A formidable talent that combines good taste with a real ability to get un-sweet and low-down." - Herald Sun (Melbourne)

"Her act has variety and excitement the house stops to give her that hushed moment of total attention that is sometimes worth even more than applause Her up-tempo rockers are great fun!" Variety (USA)
